Hey!
I’m Kirra — a psychologist and the director of Slip Psychology.
I work with adults who have spent years coping, supporting others, and appearing “together” on the outside, even when life feels heavy internally. Many of the people I support have histories of emotional neglect, parentification, or complex family dynamics. They often come to therapy wanting to understand themselves more deeply, reduce overwhelm, and feel more grounded in their day-to-day lives.
My approach is collaborative, steady, and grounded in trauma-informed care. I draw on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and attachment-informed frameworks. I pay close attention to emotional patterns, nervous system responses, and the role of self-compassion in meaningful psychological work.
In our sessions, you’ll have space to explore your experiences at a pace that feels safe and manageable. Together, we focus on building self-awareness, understanding long-standing patterns, and developing practical tools that support your wellbeing and values. My role is to walk alongside you as you make sense of what you’ve carried — and what feels important moving forward.
At Slip Psychology, I also acknowledge that wellbeing is multifaceted. Many clients find that psychological support works best when it sits alongside other forms of care that align with their needs and values. Because of this, I provide recommendations for holistic and allied health providers — such as general practitioners, dietitians, physiotherapists, and other evidence-informed wellness professionals — so clients can access a broader support network if they choose. These are optional and offered simply to help you make informed decisions about the care that feels right for you.
Slip Psychology is grounded in the belief that understanding yourself, feeling supported, and approaching your wellbeing in a connected way can make daily life feel more manageable and meaningful.
