Areas I specialise in:
Hi, I’m Kirra — a psychologist and the director of Slip Psychology. I work with adults who have spent years coping, supporting others, and often appearing “together” on the outside, even while things feel heavy internally. Many of the people I support have lived experiences such as emotional neglect, parentification, or challenging family dynamics. They often come to therapy wanting to understand themselves more deeply, reduce overwhelm, and feel more grounded in their day-to-day lives. My approach is collaborative, steady, and grounded in trauma-informed care. I draw on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and attachment-informed frameworks. I pay close attention to emotional patterns, nervous system responses, and the role of self-compassion in creating meaningful change. In our work together, you’ll have a space to explore your experiences at a pace that feels safe for you. We focus on building self-awareness, understanding long-standing patterns, and developing practical tools that support your wellbeing and values. My role is to walk alongside you as you make sense of what you’ve carried — and what feels important moving forward.
Early experiences like emotional neglect or role reversal can shape how you see yourself, relate to others, and cope with stress. Therapy offers space to understand these patterns without blame.
Burnout can emerge after years of coping, caring, and pushing through. Together we look at what’s driving the exhaustion and support you to move toward a more sustainable way of living.
Life changes can feel especially heavy when you’re already carrying a lot. We explore what’s shifting and help you navigate transitions with more clarity and support. Sometimes the same patterns that helped you cope in childhood can contribute to burnout and make life changes harder to manage — therapy is a place to gently make sense of these links.
Hi, I’m Kirra — a psychologist and director of Slip Psychology.
I support adults who feel overwhelmed or stuck, often after years of coping and caring for others. Many clients bring experiences like emotional neglect, parentification, or difficult family dynamics, and want more clarity, steadiness, and self-understanding.
My approach is trauma-informed and collaborative, drawing on evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, and attachment-informed frameworks. Together, we’ll move at a pace that feels safe, building insight and practical tools aligned with your values and wellbeing.

How it works.
01.
Initial Call
We meet via phone for a brief conversation about what’s been going on, what you’re hoping for, and any practical questions about fees, rebates and telehealth. There’s no pressure to book—this is about seeing whether it feels like a good fit.
02.
First Full Session & Shared Understanding
In our first session, we take time to understand your history, current stressors and what burnout or past experiences look like for you. Together we decide on a starting focus and an approach that feels manageable, including session frequency.
03.
Ongoing Telehealth Support
Sessions are held online, so you can attend from home or a private space that works for you. We check in regularly about what’s helpful, adjust the pace when needed, and keep your goals and wellbeing at the centre of our work.
